Acting Headshots

Acting Headshots

Your headshot gets you in the room, or to the self-tape. It has to look like you on the day you walk in, and it has to read clearly at thumbnail size on a casting director's screen.

What you get:

  • Up to two looks, so you can cover commercial and theatrical in one session

  • Choice of backdrop color

  • Three retouched images

  • Retouching that keeps you looking like you.

  • Coaching throughout, including on type

Each session includes:

  • Coaching throughout. You'll never have to wonder where to put your hands.

  • You'll see your photos during the session. You'll know you have something you like before you go.

  • Proof gallery within 48 hours. Retouched images back in seven days.

Elias Rios

Elias Rios has photographed Chicago actors for fourteen years, including performers who've appeared on FX, Apple TV+, Prime Video, and FOX.

He's also a working actor himself and a veteran of the local improv scene. He’s submitted his own headshots and knows what it’s like to want a photo that gets you seen. That experience shapes how he shoots: he can talk about type without making it awkward and coach a real expression in the moment rather than waiting for one to happen.

FAQs

How do I know which session to book?

If you need one or two strong photo that works for LinkedIn, actor headshot, a bio page, or a byline, book the portrait session. If you're building out a website or a season of content and need variety, book the branding session.

1

What's the difference between the proof gallery and the retouched images?

The proof gallery is every usable frame from the session, watermarked, so you can see everything and pick your favorites. The retouched images are the ones we finish by hand: skin, stray hairs, anything distracting. Those come to you clean and high-resolution with no watermark. Most people find the one they want in the first ten minutes of scrolling.

2

What if I hate having my photo taken?

You'll be directed the entire time and you won't have to figure out what to do with your hands.

3

Can I use these for anything?

Yes. Your retouched images are yours to use however you want, personal or commercial, with no additional licensing fee.

4

When will I receive my photos?

Your proof gallery arrives within 48-72 hours. Retouched images come seven days after you make your selections. If you're working against a deadline, tell us when you book and we'll be straight with you about whether we can hit it.

5

What should I wear?

Two or three options in solid colors. Necklines that sit well on you, nothing with a loud pattern or a visible logo. Bring the extra shirt you're unsure about. We'll help you pick, and that conversation is part of the session.

6

Do you do hair and makeup?

Most people do their own, and that's completely fine. Do what you'd normally do for an important meeting and you'll photograph well. If you'd rather hand it off, we can bring in an artist for an additional fee when booked in advance.

7

What if we finish early?

Then you're free to go. What matters is that you leave with photos you're happy with, not that we use up the clock. Plenty of people get what they need in half the time. But having the full window means nobody is watching a clock while you change shirts or decide you want to try one more thing. It also means if traffic doesn't cooperate, you’ll have extra buffer time for the session.
